BSkyB Chairman James Murdoch, who is also head of News Corp in Europe and Asia, walks off stage after a rehearsal for his James MacTaggert Memorial lecture as part of the Media Guardian Edinburgh International TV Festival in EdinburghSaudi Arabia's Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is in no doubt that James Murdoch is ready to take a much bigger role at Twenty-First Century Fox, by far the largest part of the media empire that James' father Rupert Murdoch built. "James is a giant!" said Alwaleed, a Murdoch family ally and one of Fox’s top shareholders with a 6.6 percent voting stake, in an interview. In particular, Alwaleed points to what he says is James' ability to grasp the digital world and understand how it is transforming the media landscape, adding: "I really love him!" The billionaire prince's seal of approval - and increasing acceptance of James by other shareholders - may be laying the ground for Fox to give the 42-year-old day-to-day control of the company sooner rather than later.

Heather Mack (C) arrives at a court in Denpasar, on Indonesia's Bali island, on April 14, 2015An Indonesian court is expected to hand down verdicts in the case of a US couple accused of murdering the teenage girlfriend's mother and stuffing her body into a suitcase on the resort island of Bali. The badly beaten body of Sheila von Wiese Mack, 62, was found in the boot of a taxi outside a five-star hotel in the upmarket Nusa Dua area of Bali last August. Her daughter, 19-year-old Heather Mack, and the daughter's boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, had been staying with her and were arrested in another part of the resort island after fleeing. The couple, who are both from the Chicago area and being tried separately by a three-judge panel, are accused of premeditated murder which carries a maximum penalty of death in Indonesia.

By Andy Bruce and Sara Ledwith LONDON (Reuters) - Last weekend, London couple Vicki Clayton and James Renhard left behind cramped bedrooms that smelt of smoke, housemates who stole their food and a landlord who kept his deposit, and moved into a rented flat of their own. "Aside from a mystery benefactor or a lottery win." The couple is a relatively wealthy example of London's Generation Rent: people shut out of the city's housing market by high prices. To buy an average house in London today, you need to earn over 100,000 pounds ($150,000) a year, according to the National Housing Federation (NHF), a trade body for affordable housing providers. High prices are reshaping the housing market.
